Five agreements worth 300,000 RO signed to help social initiatives


Muscat – The Ministry of Social Development and Oman LNG on Wednesday signed five agreements worth 300,000 rubles. The agreements include funding for a number of projects and initiatives that help improve people’s lives and meet their needs.

The first deal will see Oman LNG fund a “Solar Power” initiative, in which funding will be provided to provide solar panels to 32 Omani Women’s Association buildings across the country.

Through this agreement, the company also aims to support a number of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) for the supply and installation of these solar panels.

The second agreement is to support leadership and management training programs for various Omani women’s associations. These programs will provide training opportunities for 195 women in various fields including leadership, innovation, financial management, as well as media and technology.

The third agreement concerns the funding of a “We are with you” campaign, which targets children with diabetes from low-income and social security families.

The fourth agreement includes funding for the purchase of modern equipment for the Al Noor Association for the Blind in Dakhliyah Governorate.

The equipment includes modern audio and braille devices to facilitate a better learning environment for visually impaired students in higher education institutions and simplify the storage of information and the conversion of files to Braille.

The fifth agreement concerns the establishment of a pilot project to support pastoralists in South Sharqiyah governorate through the Agricultural Association of Oman.

The project is expected to provide the latest innovative agricultural procedures, and therefore
supports the country’s vision to achieve self-sufficiency and reduce the increasing cost of

The project will produce green fodder with high nutritional value at low cost while maintaining sustainability.

Commenting on the agreements, Dr Amor al Matani, CEO of Oman LNG Development Foundation, said: “We are delighted to sign these agreements with the Ministry of Social Development. Since its inception, Oman LNG, through its Development Foundation, has focused on supporting various social development programs and initiatives for the benefit of the community.
