NGO set to train Nigerian basketball coaches

International non-governmental organization, NGO with a deep passion for the promotion of grassroots sports, Sports Renaissance Africa Partners, SRAP has signed a partnership agreement with Ganon Baker on the development of coaches for the development of basketball in Nigeria.
SRAP CEO, Relindis Mbu, who revealed this during his talks with sports journalists in Abuja on Friday, noted that with the right coaching and training resources, Nigeria would soon return to the elite ranks. basketball.
She said the organization decided to hold a world-renowned coaching workshop with famed basketball coach, Ganon Baker, to achieve this goal.
Relindis pointed out that the choice of the American Ganon Baker for such a commendable initiative is due to the fact that the company has been dedicated to training and coaching for more than three decades; work with the NBA, WNBA, CBA, Euro League, NCAA, NJCAA, U Sports and more. He is, among other things, a former Nike Skills Development Coach and Director of Training.
“At SRAP, we are passionate about bringing in experts from around the world with tactical experience that can help develop our young talents.
“The training clinic and certification program with renowned Ganon Baker will be held in Abuja at Package B, Moshood Abiola National Stadium from August 15 to August 20, and it will be moved to Lagos from August 22 to August 27, at the OBN Ease Academy,” she said.
According to Relindis, SRAP works with Baker because of his vast experience in the game and his systematic program that takes young players from zero to pro.
“Ganon Baker is committed to contextualizing its comprehensive Zero-To-Pro program to
basketball coaches and athletes in Nigeria, conducting LIVE sessions in Nigeria at least 4 times a year, as well as LIVE trainings with eligible Nigerian athletes and coaches at its state-of-the-art basketball facility in Florida, USA .
“He opened up access to his strong talent management network and the global basketball ecosystem.
“Ganon Baker’s program is more detailed and comprehensive than any other in basketball, and available ONLINE and LIVE. His holistic approach gives a coach or player everything they need for their development complete physical, mental and emotional,” Relindis Mbu said.
She added that SRAP would also work with other stakeholders to ensure better exposure and scouting of young Nigerian talent.
SRAP Chief Operating Officer Terfa Akpoyibo also said that the practice clinic with Baker would be an ongoing program and would go a long way towards the development of grassroots basketball in Nigeria.
