Exploration and fun are the hallmarks of the Sudbury Theater Center Spring Break Theater Camp for 8-12 year olds.

This comprehensive all-arts experience offers a varied week of theater and arts ranging from drama, music and movement to visual arts. The program includes collaborative activities and games designed to develop imagination, confidence and creative expression.

Students will enjoy learning dramatic conventions such as role-playing, tableaux, and scene blocking. Scene and character work is part of the program as students prepare for a final showcase for relatives and friends on the last day of camp.

STC’s education programs contribute to the emotional, intellectual and social development of each student. Participation also helps build their self-confidence and problem-solving skills.

Activities will be led by Morgan Cook, Stage Manager of STC’s Students on Stage Program and Resident Manager of YES Theater Sudbury.

Registration is limited to 15 students. Activities will take place in the theater to promote physical distancing. Masks must be worn inside the building. Hand sanitizer will be readily available throughout the building and in washrooms.

STC’s March Break Theater Camp runs Monday, March 14 through Friday, March 18, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. An informal presentation for relatives and friends will take place on Friday at 3:30 p.m., subject to the gathering restrictions in effect at that time. .

The theater also offers an AP day camp on March 11.

The cost of Spring Break camp is $260 (HST included) – daycare until 5 p.m. is available for an additional $10 per day. Registration forms can be downloaded from www.sudburytheatre.com/youth.
